We’re Monitoring the Situation
The system is functioning, but who does it serve?
We’re Monitoring the Situation is a reflection of the increasing scrutiny of existing power structures & systems in light of recent global events.
In this installation, security cameras have been arranged such that their surveillance is only directed at themselves. Each camera in its usual pan-tilt movement calibrates its attention to other cameras in its immediate vicinity. The tightly crowded cameras are in a creative short circuit; both the objects and subjects of surveillance.
